What Is the Transmission Range of Sapphire?

The Transmission Range of Sapphire Optics

Sapphire is the second highest hardness crystal. Its various properties make it suitable for harsh environments, including ultra-high surface hardness, high thermal conductivity, and high resistance to chemical acids and alkalis. Compared with a variety of standard optical materials, sapphire optics provide a thinner design with a transmission range of 0.15-5.5μm of thickness to achieve the best performance from ultraviolet light to mid-infrared.
